Scott twentieth at the end of day one at Silvertsone

The doubts concerning the condition of the English asphalt at Silverstone that had been raised on the eve of the MotoGP weekend were confirmed by the first two practice sessions, where both Aprilia riders paid the price for the instability generated by the bumps in terms of times.

The characteristics of the track, combined with the particularly low temperatures, did not help Scott Redding and teammate Aleix Espargaró to find the right rhythm and this is a situation that the team mechanics will be trying to mitigate for the qualifiers tomorrow.

SCOTT REDDING
“With these low temperatures, we are really struggling to get the tyres up to temp. I used the soft front for this reason, but unfortunately it moves around a lot. The bumps make the bike twitchy. I am unable to ride smoothly and find the right rhythm. Tomorrow I should be using the new evolution of the engine that we tested in Misano, so we’ll see if that, along with other changes, will help me improve.”
