Scott struggles with grip on Sunday at #AragonWorldSBK

After heading up the stunning 1-2 victory for Aruba.it on Saturday, Scott Redding sadly instead had to settle for fourth position at the end of a difficult race today.

The second place in the Superpole Race allowed Scott Redding to start from P2. The English rider tried to stay with Rea but the feeling with the rear tire was not the same it was in Race-1. Halfway through the race Scott was in fifth position and attacked Van Der Mark to close in P4 under the chequered flag.

Scott Redding (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati)
“Unfortunately I struggled a lot since the very first laps to make the rear tire work well. I was never able to find the grip that would allow me to push with the right rhythm. In the next two days, we will have to work to understand if it was a problem with the bike or just a tire that didn’t work in the best way, also because Chaz went very fast. I find it hard to accept to win race-1 and finish fourth in race-2”.

Scott heads up Aruba.it one-two in #AragonWorldSBK race 1

For the second time in the 2020 WorldSBK season, the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team conquers the two highest steps of the podium. After the one-two in Race-2 at Jerez de la Frontera, Scott Redding and Chaz Davies make another masterpiece in Race-1 of the Prosecco Doc Aragon Round.

Starting from the third position after a convincing qualifying, Scott Redding builds his victory since the first laps when he doesn’t lose contact with Rea (Kawasaki). On lap 8, the English rider takes the first position that he controls well until lap 14 when Rea tries to attack him. Scott defends himself well and forces Rea to make a mistake, conquering the third victory of the season that allows him to return to the lead of the Superbike World Championship standings.

Scott Redding (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati)
“I’m really happy because until this morning the feeling was certainly not the best one. Maybe something has changed in the Superpole, but the conditions were not ideal. I tried to stay focused, thinking only of not losing contact with the leading group to achieve a good result. During the race, the feeling with the bike grew, and I managed to take this great victory that I dedicate to the whole team that never gave up doing an extraordinary job”.

Scott third on day one at #AragonWorldSBK

The first two free practice sessions for the Prosecco Doc Aragon Round ended with very positive feelings for the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team.

Scott Redding struggled a bit to find the best feeling in FP1 but in the afternoon session – even without trying the soft rubber – he was one of the few riders who manage to improve the morning’s time by closing in third position only 166 thousandths of a second from the best FP2 lap time set by Rea.

Scott Redding (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #45)
“We struggled a bit this morning but since the early laps of FP2, we have been able to make some improvements, step by step, working a lot with used tires. We still have to figure out how to solve some details but we will continue to work with great confidence. The weather conditions? Maybe they will be a bit different tomorrow but it will be the same for all riders. The important thing is that we have made important steps forward on the set up to improve ourselves”.

Scott has solid #PRTWorldSBK Race 2, finishing second

Scott Redding and teammate Chaz Davies overcome the difficulties of the Portimao weekend thanks to an exciting Race-2 that allows the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team riders to finish second and fourth respectively.

Starting from the second row after the fifth place in SuperPole Race, Scott was the great protagonist of the first lap that managed to close in second position. In the first half of the race, he tried to stay close to Rea (Kawasaki) then had to defend himself from the return of Van Der Mark (Yamaha) whose race pace seemed to be more incisive. Between lap 13 and lap 14 the battle was intense but Scott fought with great stubbornness and managed to get a valuable second place under the chequered flag.

Scott is now second in the Superbike World Championship standings (132 points) 4 points behind the new leader Rea.

P2 – Scott Redding (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #45)
“It has been a difficult weekend and for this reason ending with a podium is a precious result for me and for the whole team. In SuperPole Race we were able to improve things compared to Saturday but it is clear that the feeling with the bike was not ideal. I tried to stay close to Rea to create a gap with the group behind but in the second part of the race, I struggled a lot especially with the front. When Van Der Mark got me I only thought about defending myself to conquer this result. I am happy for me and for the team. We go to Aragon with great conviction”.

Scott takes seventh in difficult Race 1 at Portimao

It was a tough Saturday at the Algarve International Circuit in Portimao. Scott Redding and teammate Chaz Davies were not able to be incisive in the morning qualifying and were forced to start from eighth and thirteenth position respectively.

In the first half of the race, Redding was convincing. The British rider immediately recovered two positions and between the fifth and the eighth lap attacked Lowes (Kawasaki), Van Der Mark (Yamaha) and Baz (Yamaha) to move into third position. From lap 10, however, his race pace dropped drastically and did not allow him to defend the podium forcing him to pass under the checkered flag in seventh position.

Scott Redding is still leading the Superbike World Championship standings with 107 points, 8 points ahead of Rea (Kawasaki).

P7 – Scott Redding (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #45)
“Despite the problems in qualifying I got off to a good start and managed to get my way through the field to reach the podium positions. The feeling, though, wasn’t the best. I struggled to get the bike working in the right way throughout the race and in the last 6/7 laps things got worse. I gave my best to defend the position as long as I could. We have to work tonight to solve the problems and get in the right conditions to fight for the podium tomorrow”.

P1 – Scott Redding (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #45)
“It’s a great day for me: pole position and victory, couldn’t have done better. The race was very hard because of the temperature. In some moments I suffered a lot. I would like to thank the team for providing me with a bike that has worked very well. When did I start to suffer? Since I entered the pit lane. These are extreme conditions and tomorrow it will be even more difficult. But this is a problem all riders have to deal with”.
