Scott takes two podiums on a sad Sunday at Jerez

On a Sunday that began with one minute silence in memory of Dean Berta Vinales, Scott Redding reached the podium twice, finishing third in Race-1 (instead of the Superpole Race) and second in Race-2.

RACE -1
Despite an uninspiring start from the fourth position, Scott Redding remained glued to the front group. From the middle of the race on, his race pace increased in a tangible way and allowed him to attack Locatelli (Yamaha) in the last lap, conquering a stubborn podium.

RACE-2
Starting from the front row due to the forfeit of Lowes (Kawasaki), Scott Redding turned fifth at the first corner. Thanks to his race pace (the fastest in the early laps) he was able to stick to race leader Razgatlioglu (Yamaha). Three laps from the end, he put a stunning pass and took the lead. The Turkish rider, however, responded on the next lap to take the win.

Scott Redding (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #45)
“These are very difficult moments and I would like to send a thought to the Vinales family who asked us to race for Dean. Race-1 was better for me than I expected, especially after a really bad warm-up. In Race 2 the feeling was even better: I felt I could catch Toprak and take the win but he proved to be really strong under braking. Anyway, I’m happy to have reached the podium twice on this difficult day”.

Solid start for Scott at Jerez

A good start in Jerez de la Frontera for the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team with Scott Redding improving considerably in the afternoon to finish the day fifth in the combined standings.

FP1
Scott was the rider who completed the most laps (21) during the session without changing his rear tyre. For this reason the eighth fastest time is not particularly indicative.

FP2
Scott worked convincingly on the race pace and managed to lower his morning time by almost half a second without attempting any time attacks.

Scott Redding (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #45)
“All in all I can’t be unhappy with what we did today. The main problem is that I thought I was fast but I wasn’t fast in terms of the lap time. It’s not long before we find the right feeling and I’m sure we can take another step forward tomorrow in FP3.”

Scott stages Catalan Race 2 comeback to take podium

The Barcelona weekend brought additional satisfaction to the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team, that in Race 2 duplicates the extraordinary result of Race 1. This time it was Rinaldi who took the win at the end of a perfect race while Scott Redding was the protagonist of a sensational comeback that ended on the podium just one-tenth from second place.

Superpole Race
P15 – Protagonist until the red flag, after the second start Scott was involved in the crash between Nozane (Yamaha) and Locatelli (Yamaha). The English rider got back on track but his race was compromised.

Race-2
In the second start Scott couldn’t be as incisive as in the first one but his progression was exciting. Between lap 3 and lap 5, the English rider recovered 5 positions and then attacked Bautista (Honda) and Rea (Kawasaki) to get to the podium zone. On the final lap Redding trieed to attack Razgatlioglu for the second place, and he passed under the chequered flag with just one tenth behind the Turkish rider.

Scott Redding (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #45)
“This result makes me happy because last year we had so many difficulties at this circuit. Unfortunately, at the second start of the Superpole Race I lost a lot of positions to avoid a crash and this somehow made Race 2 very complicated. Anyway, I stayed focused and tried to make my pace even though I lost contact with the front group while trying to pass Bautista. It was a good weekend overall and we will try to repeat it at Jerez”.

Scott takes stunning Race 1 win in Barcelona

Race-1 of the Catalan Round, held in wet conditions after the rain that fell late in the morning, entered by right in the history of the Aruba.it Racing -Ducati team thanks to the amazing victory of Scott Redding and the third place of Michael Rinaldi.

Scott didn’t get off to the best start, finding himself in 11th position after 2 laps. From lap 7, however, Scott’s race pace grew vertically and allowed him to get closer to the leading group. In the last 7 laps, Redding was perfect and took an extraordinary victory.

Scott Redding (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #45)
“The first few laps were really difficult. From the middle of the race, though, I started to gain confidence. If I have to be honest, when I arrived close to the podium group and saw two Ducatis in front of me I thought, “I’ll take some risks but I want to win”. I’m very happy to have given this satisfaction to my team. Let’s keep on thinking race by race and then we’ll take stock at the end of the season”.

Positive feelings in FP2 at Catalunya for Scott

Intense sunshine combined with a summery temperature (almost 30°) characterized Friday’s free practice for the Catalan Round, the ninth race weekend of the 2021 WorldSBK season.

Scott Redding (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #45)
“If I have to be honest, especially in the afternoon, I felt pretty good with the bike. Unfortunately I had two tyres that didn’t work in the best way and that didn’t allow us to find continuity. In FP2 I had the chance to do a few laps together with Rea and I must admit that the feeling in terms of race pace was very positive. Unfortunately, just like last year, we lose a lot in turns 3 and 4. We will have to work on this tomorrow morning.”

Scott back on the podium in French Round Race 2

The French Round ends with a great race for Scott Redding who overcame the difficulties of Saturday and conquered the podium after fighting for the lead until mid-race.

Superpole Race
Scott took a significant step forward in terms of feeling. The English rider was not incisive at the start but, after the first laps, his convincing race pace allowed him to take the fifth position and the second row of the grid for Race 2.

RACE-2
Scott was determined to stay with the podium group and, already on the third lap after the crash of Lowes (Kawasaki), he stayed glued to Razgatlioglu (Yamaha) and Rea (Kawasaki). From the middle of the race, however, the pace of the English rider was just not enough to be able to keep fighting for the victory.

Scott Redding (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #45)
“I’m satisfied with this result, especially because during the weekend we were able to improve the bike, mainly in the braking phase which was the principal problem. I tried in the first part of the race to stay with Jonny and Toprak but then I preferred not to risk and bring home an important result for the team.

Scott finishes P12 in difficult Magny Cours race 1

Race-1 of the French Round, eighth event of the 2021 WorldSBK season, ended with a P12 for Scott Redding who – after a difficult qualifying session – never managed to find the conditions to be competitive.

Superpole

Despite a FP3 finished in first position, Scott was not able to get the best out of the two qualifying tires and he had to settle for the eighth position on the grid.

Race 1

Scott’s race was difficult since the start. The English rider complained of strong grip problems that force him to make some mistakes in braking. Despite all, he tried to push to recover positions and points.
During the fight for the 8th position he fell without consequences and he was able to resume the race, crossing the finish line 12th.

Scott Redding (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #45)
“It was a very tough race. I never had any grip both on the front and on the rear. I tried to hold on until the end even though the feeling was not the best. Then I crashed. In conditions like these, when the temperature is high but not very high, we have difficult problems to solve. Anyway, I hope to do better tomorrow in terms of results”.

Scott second on opening day at Magny Cours

The first day of activity at the Magny-Cours circuit in France ended up with positive indications for the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team. After the FP1 influenced by the rain falling in the early hours of the morning, in the FP2 – held under an unpredictable sun – Scott Redding and teammate Michael Rinaldi worked hard with their Ducati Panigale V4R collecting important data in view of Race-1 scheduled for tomorrow at 2pm (CEST).

FP1
The circuit was still very humid and Scott Redding took to the track only in the final part of the session – in dry conditions – to familiarise himself with the track and collect data; the lap-times, however, were not indicative.

FP2
It took a few laps for Scott Redding to get the right feeling. After working on tire choice for Race 1, in the second part of the session, the English rider found the right conditions to push hard, finishing with the second fastest time.

Scott Redding (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #45)
“It was quite a weird day for me as I have never ridden on this circuit in dry conditions. For this reason, in the first part of the session, I focused mainly on finding the feeling with the circuit. Then I was able to find my pace and things went much better. We are in the right direction and I think we can improve tomorrow”.
