#DutchWorldSBK weekend report

SATURDAY

Less than two weeks after a difficult European season opener in Portugal, MGM Bonovo Racing traveled to round three together with the Superbike World Championship, which takes place this weekend at the legendary TT Circuit in Assen, Netherlands.

While MGM Bonovo Racing rider Scott Redding finished Friday in the top 10, he still couldn’t find the perfect feeling for his Ducati Panigale V4 R after Portimao. In Superpole late Saturday morning, which, like all of Friday, took place in dry but fresh weather conditions, he was able to reduce his fastest time from Friday by almost one second to 1:33.597 minutes, but that was just enough for 16th place on the grid.

In the first race, the British rider completed a solid 21 laps. Although he benefited from crashes by several riders in front of him, he bravely held his own between 11th and ninth place from lap seven onward. After 16 laps, he was in eleventh place but was able to gain one position on the final lap, achieving a respectable top ten result.

In Superpole Race on Sunday at 11:00 local time, Redding and his MGM Bonovo Racing Team crew will try to make further progress and take home as many points as possible from the Netherlands in the second main race at 14:00 local time.

#45 Scott REDDING
Grid position 16 / Race 1: P10

«Race one was probably one of the better sessions of the weekend so far. I felt ok at the start of the race. I still need to find some more confidence. Just at the end of the race the rear tyre dropped, completely gone, already with six laps to go and then the last three laps it was completely gone. So, I lost the few positions to the guys I was racing with unfortunately, so tomorrow we need to improve this and see if we can make a step to be a bit more competitive in the race.»
