“It was a difficult weekend, but I am trying to look at the positive side. Unlike what happened in Jerez, where I didn’t have grip in the early laps, here at the race start I felt quite at ease with the bike. Usually the situation improves lap by lap, so I had planned on staying in the group of riders I was battling with to then improve during the race. Unfortunately, I struggled to manage the front tyre and, in fact, my crash was caused by a loss of grip at the front. I am disappointed about how things ended, but I am happy with the way I was riding in the race, where I had the best sensations of the weekend.”
Scott unable to find qualifying feel despite Saturday changes
It was a difficult day of qualifying at Le Mans for Scott Redding who, despite some changes made, was still unable to find the right feeling on the French track. At the end of Q1, it was the twenty-second best time and the eighth row for him.

“Unfortunately, we weren’t able to solve the problems today either. I still do not have the right feeling and I’m unable to ride as I would like to. The situation is not the best, but we’ll keep working. I don’t expect any revolutions from now to the race, but we need to figure out the source of our problems.”
Scott forced to retire from French GP with technical problems
The Grand Prix de France has a bitter taste for Octo Pramac Racing. Scott Redding and teammate Danilo Petrucci were protagonists of a strong race but both were forced to retire due to technical problems with their Ducati Desmosedici GP.
After superb Saturday’s qualifying and an excellent warm-ups (6th quickest) Scott started well from the seventh position and from the first laps he managed to find a good race pace. Unfortunately his race ended on the seventh lap due to gearshift failure.

“It’s a shame. Feeling were very good. It was a great weekend. I had so much confidence after Jerez tests and in free practice and qualifying I’ve done very well. The race start was good although in the first laps I had some grip problems. But I managed to keep my position as the race pace was very positive. It may seem strange but if I have to be honest I’m glad with this weekend because I found a great feeling. See you at Mugello!”.
French Grand Prix DNF for Scott Redding
For Scott Redding it was a bad day at the French GP at Le Mans today due to a technical problem forced retirement for the Brit after 6 laps.
Scott got a great start, gaining soon two positions and then getting to 10th place thanks to a brillant race pace. In the first part of the race Scott was lapping with the same lap-time of the riders in front, showing to have found a good feeling with his Ducati Desmosedici GP.
The pace was good and would allow him to fight for a place close to the fifth position. After six laps a technical problem unfortunately forced him to retire.
DNF – SCOTT REDDING
“I am very sorry for how things went. It is not an easy moment, but certainly I can not think what would have happened in Argentina and in France without these problems. At the same time I must admit that the feelings in the first six laps were good. I had a good race pace and the feeling was good even during the warm up. I want to restart from these sensations, with the knowledge that we were on the right direction and it was only bad luck.”
